Dhyanalinga Temple
The Dhyanalinga Multi-Religious Temple situated at Vellingiri foothills about 30 kms from Coimbatore is very much a part of this glorious tradition. Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, a realized Master, Mystic and Yogi consecrated Dhyanalingam, after three years of intense process of prana prathista. Measuring 13’9”, Dhyanalingam is the largest mercury based live Linga in the world. It does not require any pooja or worship, just sitting silently for few minutes within the sphere of Dhyanalinga is enough to make even those unaware of meditation to experience a state of deep meditation and feel the Divine energy that overflows from this glorious form. The free spanning dome that enshrines the Dhyanalingam measures 77’ in diameter and is the largest of its kind in the world. This divine instrument radiates seven different qualities on seven different days of the week by which one can derive various benefits.
Maruthamalai Murugan Temple
This temple is located 12kms. From Coimbatore Railway Station, at Mahill. The temple is dedicated to Lord Muruga, the presiding deity. Maruthamalai Sri Murugan got its name from the Marutha trees on the hill. The story goes this way, a tired Siddha took shelter under the shade of Marutha tree and to quench his thirst he prayed to lord Muruga for water. The water sprang from the roots of the Marutha tree. The Siddha was overjoyed by the miracle, and thus the name Maruthamalai Sri Murugan Temple.
Perur Shiva Temple
Perur is one of the seven Kongu Sivalayam, a temple of great sanctity with architectural & sculptural blend of South India. The patteswar temple is situated at the bank of the holy river Noyyal. It is 7 kms from the west of Coimbatore. This temple was built by Karikal Cholan, 1500 years ago. Apart from Chola rulers, The Hoysalas & the Vijayanagar emperors also made contributions to this temple.
Then Thirumala - Lord Venkatachalapathy
This holy edifice which is a replica in miniature of the world famous shrine in Tirumala is located at THENTHIRUMALAI Karamadai – Sirumugai Road, Coimbatore District. Like the hill temple in Tirumala, the temple is located on a natural hill formation amidst sylvain surroundings at an elevation of about 1000ft. above MSL, and could be seen from a distance. The majestic looking gopuram in white stucco above the sanctum sanctorium and the temple complex in white and grey add to the grandeur of the shrine against the backdrop of the bluish – green mountains nearby. Lord Sri Balaji is in the main temple. Sri Garudalwar sits facing the lord.
Koniamman Temple
The history of the temple & deity dates back to 13th Century A.C. This temple was built by COVAN who was the leader of a small cult known as Irulas. The village was named after him as COVANPUTHUR which in due course became Coimbatore. Earlier this temple was situated in the north of Coimbatore near Sanganur stream & later on shifted to the heart of the city, adjacent to the new fort.
During the Mysore Dynasty, one of the kings renovated this temple & consecrated Devi Koniamman in the style of ‘Mahisasura Mardhani’. The sculptural beauty of this statue is marvelous & people have strong belief in the power of the Goddess. Special poojas happen on Tuesdays & Fridays when people, especially women flock to get the divine grace. The Abhisekha Theertham of this temple is considered a boon for ill people. The annual festival is celebrated during the month of Masi for 14 days & the most important is the car festival. People from & near gather for the Dharshan.
Arulmigu Eachanari Vinayagar
This temple is located on Pollachi road, 10 kms from Coimbatore. The kumbabishekam was performed in 1990.
The temple was built in 1500 A.D. The sthalapuranam states that this diety was taken to be installed at Perur Patteshwarar temple from Madurai. On its way, at Eachanari, the programme had to be terminated and the place got blessed by installing the diety here. The deity stands 6 feet tall and 3 feet wide.

This temple is located 20 kms. from Coimbatore towards Siruvani.
This temple is in one of the five hills of historic importance. The five hills symbolically represents the five different faces of 'Lord Shiva'. The uniqueness of this temple is that only here PanchaLinga can be seen.
According to the sthalapuranam, 'Lord Brahma' got 'Shiva Dharisanam' when he was meditating at the Himalayas. He was guided to continue his meditation in the name of 'Pattimuni' at Perur. On 'Lord Brahma' continuing his meditation, 'Lord Shiva' and 'Umaimmai' were pleased and performed 'Ananda Nadanam' at Perur.
